Sitting on a chair all day can be bad for your health. We are built to stand upright. Our heart and cardiovascular system work more effectively that way. You have a lower risk of early death if you stand or move around instead of sitting all day.
Sitting on a chair whole day is not good for your health, but standing on your feet all day isn’t either. An electric, height-adjustable standing desk provides you the best of both worlds. Simply push the button to raise the desk so you can work while standing. Now feeling tired? just press another button and relax on your chair.
Best Standing Desks 2024:

- Vari Electric Standing Desk
- FlexiSpot E7 Pro Plus
- Secretlab Magnus Pro
- Branch Duo Standing Desk
Uplift V2 Standing Desk
The Uplift V2 has the best balance of performance and features. Its response time is good when you press the button. Plus, this standing desk is very stable even in its tallest setting.
If you don’t use a footrest and are under 5-foot-4, then Uplift V2 is not a good option. If you are below that number, then we recommend Uplift V2-Commercial Standing Desk, it has a lower height limit. It has many great reviews.
If you choose Uplift V2, we recommend you watch the build videos from there website. After watching these videos, you will easily manage to build it yourself without any mistakes. In my opinion, the videos on their website are much better than the written instructions. The company claims a 7 to 9 minute build time but a lot of reviews on amazon and reddit suggest that it took them minimum of 45 hours to build it.
We have also tried their customer service and they were very fast and answered immediately, We asked if we can replace a part and they were willing to replace it.
Vari Electric Standing Desk
This standing desk is liked by most people due to its stability. This desk has T legs, which provide better stability. There is a minor front-to-back wobble at height 47″, but I didn’t notice it when I was coding. With a 43″ monitor and other accessories on it, this stable desk is completely stable at 30″.
The desk board is a 1″1/4 thick and super heavy. It is thicker than the other brands for this price tier. It also has a curve on the bottom, which is really comfortable when you are sitting.
The control pad is really nice. It has one touch operations, and you do not have to hold the memory presets (you must set one touch mode to enable this).
According to many online reviews, this standing desk appears to be easy to assemble.
FlexiSpot E7 Pro Plus
Just like the above model Vari, this standing desk is also very straight forward to put together in under 30 minutes. Still, if you face any issue with assembly, then there is a short video available on YouTube. Plus, this table comes with nice cable management bits.
The biggest design change on the E7 Pro vs the regular model is the new Semi-C leg structure, essentially giving a 30/70 spilt instead of 50/50. To understand it, check this image. In usage, this makes a huge improvement to the overall ergonomics when seated, especially on worktops.
According to Flexispot, the Pro model supports up to 125 kg. Which is great as it will cover everyone’s needs. Even with a large worktop (30 kg), 2 x 27″ Dell Monitors + Arm (20 kg), Monitor Audio B2 speakers (14kg) it would only come to 64kg, so there’s plenty of headroom.
Secretlab Magnus Pro
This standing desk has top-notch quality. The attention to details is insane. No bulge where the controls are. The fact that a desk pad that covers the entire surface of the desk is perfect to the millimeter on all 4 sides is impressive to me. Everything feels substantial and well-built.
This standing desk also has good cabling management. You can tell this desk was designed and built around the notion of cable management and clean lines.
The motor in this standing desk is extremely quiet, smooth, and surprisingly quick. The desk also goes to a shockingly high max height. The controls are very easy and intuitive. This desk comes with 3 height presets: sitting, standing, and max height.
The stability for this desk is good but not as stable as the above mentioned models like Vari and Uplift V2. At max height, you can feel a small wobble.
Branch Duo Standing Desk
The standing desk has a lifting capacity of 275lb, comes in two different sizes, offers one of the most unique controllers I have seen, and it provides a ten-year warranty on the tabletop and frame. All of that, for under $450, this desk is an absolute steal.
This desk offers a much easier assembly process, along with the optional cable management tray and desk drawer. This desk is perfect for those who like to have a clear desk when they’re not working, as you can store your laptop, mouse, and other accessories in the drawer and take them out when it’s time to start working.
The desk operates very smoothly. I placed a full cup of coffee on the desk and moved it up and down. I was amazed that not a single drop spilled when putting the Duo Standing Desk through this test. It has certainly earned a place among the best standing desks.
